K. Nicholas Carlson is an explorer of many fields. Music just happens to be one expression of his joy in life. He grew up playing the piano and learning the piano by himself. Though it was slightly out of tune he carried on playing and experimenting. His family is very artistic and musically unique.

Ever since computers began to help make music he dived in fully. The fascination of making any sounds mix together he wanted to bring his imagination to the forefront. Later learning that only a computer can play those sounds he adjusted his style and imagination to fit playability. Now he writes music for computers and also for instrumentalists. He still experiments with all that he can and fractal music has become his latest obsession.

He has a Bachelor, Master and a PhD in music composition.
